Eligibility:
Must be an enrolled college student.
Eligible to receive college credit.
Ability to communicate and write in English.
Organized and meets deadlines.
Flexible and willingness to learn new skillsets.
Access to a computer, reliable internet connection.
Must have some experience and passion in the role you are applying for.
Open Roles:
SOCIAL MEDIA EDITOR
Generate ideas to maximize audience reach.
Research trends, viral worthy and educational content to share.
Work cross-functionally with teams to execute your ideas.
Responsible for managing and producing content for @thegirlsroomnyc
Voice of the brand and responsible for posts, replies and general content.
PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Responsible for researching talent such as artists, celebrities, entrepreneurs and women positively impacting their communities.
Expected to pitch stories that uplift the community.
Expected to assist the production team with upcoming campaigns and projects.
Responsible for a minimum of 2-3 productions throughout this program.
Willing to learn, apply passion and time into shoots, behind the scenes and overall production aspects.
GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Pitch creative, trendy and on brand content ideas.
Content creation, and providing feedback on content.
Create at least (1-2) graphics a week for online publication.
Assist the Graphic Design team with upcoming projects.
Must have experience with design softwares (pro create, photoshop, illustrator) and access to tools. Ex: iPad and WiFi.
CONTRIBUTING WRITER
Expected to submit at least (2) articles bi-weekly.
Pitch editorial coverage ideas such as beauty, lifestyle, politics, entertainment and health.
Responsible for submitting articles to the Editor for approval and needed edits.
Brainstorm and write original content pieces • Transcribe interviews as assigned.
Act as support for the editorial team as required.
What to Submit:
Social Media Editor, Production Assistant and Event Planner: Please submit your resume.
Graphic Designers: Please submit 3-4 examples of your work and or your portfolio.
Contributing Writers: Please submit (2-3) writing examples.
Include your preferred role, school, year and a short bio as we’d love to get to know you!

Can I earn credit for interning?
Each selected candidate is responsible for connecting with their school to obtain verification, forms and approval for credit. Each school has different requirements.
How long is the internship?
Start date July 13th - September 14th
Credits and Time Commitments:*
1 credit internship= 4 hours/week, 50 hours/semester
2 credit internship= 8 hours/week, 100 hours/semester
3 credit internship= 12 hours/week, 150 hours/semester
*NOTE: The faculty sponsor and the Career Center determine the credit value of an EXT Internship.
