Days-long power outages. Frozen toilet water. Boil-water advisories. Right now, Texans are confronted with winter weather they’ve never seen before. The ripple effects of this unprecedented crisis are varied. From low-running supplies in food stores to firefighters struggling to put out fires due to frozen hydrants, the situation is dire. There’s much to dissect politically—could this have been prevented? Is this an effect of ignored climate change? Why did Ted Cruz leave the state while constituents suffered?
